Halwasiya Chhatra Niwas was
established in the year 1944 by Late Sri Prabhudayalji Himmatsingka. He was not
only the renaissance for the Marwari cult but also a fatherly figure and a
champion of our Independence struggles. It was his courage and hard work that
materialised in the birth of this Chhatra Niwas.
Presently, 35 boarders are
getting accommodation in our hostel; residents of Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha,
Chattishgarh, Assam and other parts of West Bengal. All of us are CA aspirants
with the aim of following the paths of our seniors and achieving success in our
lives. Our hostel has produced hundreds of Chartered Accountants, Company
Secretaries, Cost Accountants and several IAS, politicians and businessmen. They
are the ones who have reposed the fame of our hostel at the apex. With the motto
of “HARDWORK AND DILIGENCE LEADS TO SUCCESS”, ‘life’ at our hostel makes one
learn to ‘struggle’ and ‘survive’ and moulds him to perfection.
Our extracurricular activities
include playing chess, table tennis and carom board. We also engage in debating
and quizzing which provide recreation as well as refinement. Social services
have a special place in our hearts.
We celebrate Vasant Panchmi in
its full glory and delight. It is time for the Chhatra Niwas to find all its
boarders and ex-boarders together, often engaging in joyful nostalgia.
